Alström Syndrome International (formerly known as Society for Alström Syndrome Families) was formed in August, 1995 at the First International Alström Syndrome "Reunion" in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Alström Syndrome International is intended for families, friends, and professionals worldwide whose lives have been touched by Alström Syndrome. Alström Syndrome International is reliant on membership and charitable contributions to continue to foster its goals, and is a registered nonprofit corporation.
