The Lupus Foundation of America is the nation's leading nonprofit voluntary health organization dedicated to improving the diagnosis and treatment of lupus, supporting individuals and families affected by the disease, increasing awareness of lupus among health professionals and the public, and finding the cause and cure.

The LFA was founded in 1977 as a nonprofit voluntary health agency. The LFA operates a nationwide network of local chapters, branches and support groups. The LFA also has international partners throughout the world. This website includes a directory of local chapters and international groups. Membership in the LFA is through a local chapter.

The LFA works in partnership with other national organizations, and federal, state and local government agencies that share its commitment to this important cause. Our most important partners, however, are people like you, who volunteer their time, donate funds, and get involved in this most urgent cause.
