    The Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation (CRPF) is committed to funding research that develops treatments and cures for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury and other central nervous system disorders. The Foundation also vigorously works to improve the quality of life for people living with disabilities through its grants program, paralysis resource center and advocacy efforts.

    Since 1982, CRPF has awarded $42.5 million in research grants to the world's best neuroscientists. CRPF grants are catalytic. We support new initiatives, take smart risks, and make sure our research dollars are spent to do the most good.

    In addition, through our Quality of Life Grants program, CRPF has granted close to $3.5 million since 1999 to nonprofit organizations that help improve the daily lives of people living with paralysis, particularly spinal cord injuries.

    At NSCIA, we educate and empower survivors of spinal cord injury and disease to achieve and maintain the highest levels of independence, health and personal fulfillment. We fulfill this mission by providing an innovative Peer Support Network and by raising awareness about spinal cord injury and disease through education. Our education programs are developed to address information and issues important to our constituency, policy makers, the general public, and the media, and including injury prevention, improvements in medical, rehabilitative and supportive services, research and public policy formulation.

    The Paralyzed Veterans of America, a congressionally chartered veterans service organization founded in 1946, has developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of our members-veterans of the armed forces who have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction.

    PVA will use that expertise to be the leading advocate for: quality health care for our members; research and education addressing spinal cord injury and dysfunction; benefits available as a result of our members' military service; and civil rights and opportunities which maximize the independence of our members.

    To enable PVA to continue to honor this commitment, we must recruit and retain members who have the experience, energy, dedication, and passion necessary to manage the organization and ensure adequate resources to sustain the programs essential for PVA to achieve its mission.

    SCINI is a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating access to quality health care by providing information and referral services to spinal-cord-injured individuals and their families.

    We have an 1-800 toll-free phone number; an Information Center containing books, journals and clippings files; information sheets on a variety of topics relating to SCI; and a Video Lending Library. Our Website offers news items, with links, on research, legislation and other topics; links to SCI resources on the WWW; a glossary; and a calendar.

    SCS is a large grass roots organization linked by over 200 chapters, a monthly Newsletter, and thousands of members throughout North America and 24 other countries. Its goal is cure of spinal cord injury paralysis. It is an organization of the spinal cord injured, their families and friends, and dedicated scientists and physicians who are aiming at the ultimate goal of cure through improved treatment and research.

    Spinal Cord Injury and Families
    A group that will relate to people who have lived with a Spinal Cord Patient and need advice or want to talk about things related to it.

    Spinal Cord Injury
    This list is for people who have suffered a spinal cord injury as the result of an injury or illness. A good opportunity to meet people who know what it's like to walk in our shoes . Coping with our disabilities and the complications that go along post spinal cord injury need to be talked about so we don't feel so alone.

    Women With SCI
    Women with spinal cord injury make up such a small percentage of the SCI commutity that much of the information and help is aimed at men. This is a club for women with SCI so that we may offer helpful hints, moral support, and funny stories that we all need from time to time.

    SCIPIN-L
    Provides consumers and other interested individuals with a fast, easy way to share problems and solutions. The Disability and Health Program will try to provide a helpful and supportive environment for discussion of issues related to health and wellness for individuals with spinal cord injury, including preventing secondary conditions, access to services and consumer and professional education needs.
